Case Studies
Copperworks, Birmingham
We acquired this site in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, negotiating a complex joint venture between a property investment company and the landowner. Advising on pricing, design and specification, the site was then subsequently sold on to a private developer with planning consent in place.
RDI continued to advise the developer and ran a successful overseas sales campaign, selling the units off-plan to international investors in a competitive residential market.
Pearl Works, Sheffield
We acquired a brownfield site in Sheffield on behalf of an existing client, negotiating an off-market purchase. We then helped to successfully obtain a planning consent for 53 residential units along with 4,500 sq/ft of retail space. We advised on a pre-let of the retail space to Tesco and identified a contractor who delivered the scheme on time and on budget.
The team successfully sold all elements of the project prior to completion, the residential units were sold via an international sales campaign, the retail investment was sold to a private investor and the freehold investment to a UK ground rent fund.
Urban Study, Newcastle
The RDI team were retained to act for Urban Study, a UK based student accommodation fund to assist in developing a nationwide student housing portfolio. We acquired four sites for them and facilitated putting together their professional team including architects and planning consultants. We subsequently advised on scheme design and specification and all four sites were successfully taken through planning with consents obtained.
Following completion of the developments we have helped to appoint an operator and continue to advise them on an ongoing basis with a view towards an eventual exit strategy.
